15 years of clinical experience of psychiatry in different clinical settings in three different countries: Turkey, U.S.A. and Sweden. Updated treatment alternatives according to the last evidence in the field. Specific expertise in diagnosing, treatment and follow-up of neuropsychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders in adults, as well as supervision of colleagues in different contexts. Experience in individual and group psychotherapy according to different modalities. Group workshops and supervision in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Contribution to scientific knowledge in mental health as a researcher, peer-reviewer and a critical thinker. Have worked as a research fellow and studied at Harvard School of Public Health in 2010. Affiliated with Uppsala University in Sweden as a researcher. Have been author or co-author of more than 20 peer-reviewed articles or book chapters, have reviewed several papers and worked with many projects in various settings. Have been involved in medical education, pedagogical underpinnings and innovative techniques.
Clinical interests include diagnostic challenges, adult ADHD and autism-spectrum, innovative practices for diagnose, treatment and follow-up. Research interests include tracing possible objective markers in psychiatry, basic concepts of pedagogy and its clinical utilities in clinical context as well as neuropsychiatric & neurodevelopmental disorders. Additionally deeply interested in "constructs" and philosophical underpinnings of psychiatry, diagnostic systems and evolutionary psychiatry as a fascinated follower/sceptical.
